BPD Awareness Week

Melbourne - Mindful self-compassion workshop

Learn about self-compassion, what exactly it is, and how you can begin to apply it in your everyday life 2nd October 2018

Some of the main features of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) include intense emotional distress, self criticism and self-loathing. Instead of mercilessly judging and criticizing yourself for various inadequacies or shortcomings, self-compassion means you show yourself kindness and understanding when confronted with difficult experiences.

Mindful Self-Compassion combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to enhance our capacity for emotional wellbeing especially when faced with hardships, when we experience loss, stuff up, hurt each other, or just feel miserable. It’s during these times that we are often also so harsh on ourselves.
